Poland is not a member of the Euro currency system. Polish currency is New Polish Złoty (PLN or zł). 1 złoty equals 100 groszy (gr). There are 5 types of banknotes: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 zł. There are 9 types of coins: 1, 2, 10, 20, 50 gr, and also 1, 2, 5 zł. 1 PLN = 0,244 EUR

Major foreign currencies may be exchanged for PLN at the airport, banks and larger hotels. There are also numerous private currency exchange offices identified by the name KANTOR. Banks are usually open from 9am to 4pm on weekdays and until 1pm on Saturdays. KANTORs are usually open from 10am to 7pm weekdays and until 2pm on Saturdays. All major Credit Cards (MasterCard, Visa) are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops in Poland. In some location EURO is accepted.

Poland is very well covered with mobile GSM dual band technology (900/1800 MHz) and UMTS. Wi-Fi - in the venue free Intrenet access to workshop participants will be provided.

Poland has one official language: Polish. Time in Poland is the same as in the whole central Europe, i.e. UTC +1. Climate is continental; moderate, changeable weather. Average temperature in May is 13°. Electricity: 220 V, 50 Hz AC Euro socket style. Smoking is banned in hospitals, schools, financial institutions, railway stations and airports. The non-smoking law permits smoking in designated areas in public institutions.
